VistaSterol

VistaSterol is taken when cholesterol levels are elevated. VistaSterol helps to control cholesterol levels as part of a well-balanced and varied diet that is rich in vegetables and fruit. VistaSterol may also be used in conjunction with other cholesterol-lowering products if they prove insufficiently effective.

How much?
2 tablets per day to lower blood cholesterol.
1 tablet per day helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

What time of day?
VistaSterol must be taken before the main meal. The 2 tablets may be taken simultaneously.

Duration of treatment
The reduction in cholesterol is noticeable within around 3 weeks. Once ideal cholesterol levels are restored, intake can be lowered to 1 tablet per day, which should always be taken before the main meal. It is advisable to continue taking VistaSterol for a prolonged period in order to maintain the beneficial effects.

Plant sterols, also known as phytosterols, are naturally present in vegetables and fruit, but in very small amounts. Although their chemical structure resembles that of cholesterol, they do not have the undesirable characteristics of cholesterol. If taken in sufficient amounts, plant sterols compete with dietary cholesterol during the digestive process. Consequently less cholesterol is absorbed into the bloodstream and, as a result, the cholesterol levels in the blood are reduced. High blood cholesterol is a risk factor for development of cardiovascular disease. VistaSterol is very well tolerated because it only exerts its effect in the intestine and not in the bloodstream.
